Trelegy Ellipta

Has anybody else been prescribed this new inhaler? Any feedback appreciated please

Not yet, but I’m seeing my GP on 4th May for a check up and he’s asked me to bring my inhalers so he may change me to it, I’m not sure.

What kind of inhaler is it? (salbutamol? Seretide? Etc)

It's a long acting maintenance in place of Fostair etc and Spiriva but is only taken once a day. I can't start until Saturday though as pharmacy has had to order it so can't pick it up until tomorrow after 11 so still got to take the others until then

Yes Im on Trimbo a 3 in 1 inhaler which im told is the same has Trelegy ? Seems to be working but im giving it time to see how it goes xx

I think they are slightly different ingredients (if that' the word to use) - can only but try. Both Symbicort and Fostair have caused exacerbations and chest infections - not nice!!!

I found that Fostaire made me go down hill the same has you from upper infections to mild pneumonia twice and what i feel has been one long exacerbation and it really made my reflux bad and anxiety i just am hoping like you x

How's everyone doing on Trelegy?

My consultant recently recommended this 3 in 1. He said it is the same as the Relvar (I am currently taking) and has the equivalent of spiriva in as well. So it means just taking one inhaler dose a day.

Just with back up of ventolin if/as required

Interested to know how others on Trelegy are finding it?

I'm due to start it shortly. My consultant has been talking about it for a year & says it's the same as the Anoro that I've been on for years with the added steroid that I'm also taking separately. I'm not expecting to notice any difference in efficacy from my current regime other than not needing the steroid inhaler twice daily.

Hi Clare thanks for responding. The consultant said I probably wouldn't notice any difference, although I currently take spiriva separately but its a different drug to replacement equivalent in the Trelegy, I have found the respimat spiriva is better than the powdered capsules and the Trelegy all being powder. Oh well will have to think on it further. The advantage is that it is a once a day inhaler.

It would be good to have some improvement, hope you find all things as good or better on it.

I’m not surprised that you get on well with the spiriva respimat. I started Spiolto respimat this time last year as a trial but I absorbed it so quickly that the reaction I had to it was too severe to continue. I think I would have done well on it. My experience of Anoro is that it has a very gentle onset of action so it doesn’t feel all that dynamic. My consultant disagreed with me 100% according to his literature but I speak as I find . . . Xx

Its all we can do Clare speak as we find. I don't know Anoro.

The med in the Trelegy equiv replacement for the respimate is the umeclidinium bromide I am a bit unsure about it as I recall some not so good reports when it was in its trial stage way bag.

I could just stay as I am with the Relvar and continue with the spiriva respimat, but the idea of the Trelegy in its favour is the one a day inhaler (3 in 1) replacing need for other inhalers.

oh I just read Anoro is Umeclidinium bromide and vilanterol, 2 of the meds in Trelegy. Thanks for mentioning about it Clare.
