Spring gives ๐Ÿพ wings!!

โ€ข40 Replies

Yesterday started with Aria and a bird in the living-room, feathers everywhere and ended with Bea searching for Aria who was chasing after a hedgehog! Missed the 2nd half of the match. Well thatโ€™s my excuse ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Bea took a photo for the forum!! The hedgehog is intact and so is Aria!

Have a grand Spring day x

That's a very plump hedgehog, could hoglets be on their way d'ya think?๐Ÿค”. I wish there were more of them -it's years since I last saw one. Aria's keeping herself busy by the sound of it๐Ÿ˜Š.

in reply to Magpuss

Could be yes!!! I saw one a couple of years ago in my brotherโ€™s garden. He was a regular visitor. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Oh yes she is!! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I donโ€™t think I would want to be on the receiving end of those prickles. Take note Aria! ๐Ÿคช

You have an enjoyable day Fran. Weโ€™re out to lunch with friends which is nice. Xx ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜˜

in reply to sassy59

Bea cuddled it she didnโ€™t prick her!!

She tricked me I said where is it now? She said in a cardboard box in the living-room! Saw my face then laughed at me!! We save an animal a week here ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Have a lovely lunch xx

Lovely photo Fran, I did have the occasional hedgehog visit my previous garden, along with all sorts of wild life including the Fox. Since moving house less than I year ago, I & Hubby are trying to create a garden with a Blank Canvas. I do miss all the animal life, I would sit at my French Doors (previous house)watching them all come and go, my favourite being the Robin, I will always believe they are the spirits of my departed friends, little Angels on earth. We have now accumulated a few Bird Tables and A New Tree is planted, my new potted plants are yet to establish themselves. We transferred a Beautiful Bush named Jennifer after one of my grandchildren. I have a Beautiful Bungalow for the disabled, We love it. The garden is Huge, it amazes me that the council actually have these Bungalows with very large Gardens, Some are neglected due to a person being severely disabled or live alone. Night Time My gardens are lit up with Beautiful Fairy Lights which brings Pleasure to me. So much more to do...Good job my Hubby has green fingers, much like Your Bea. Love n Hugs. Carolina XXXXX

Such a lovely garden story Carolina ๐ŸŒท๐Ÿ’— Bea is watching the buds to see which flower is going to bloom!!

On my way to the eye specialist, itโ€™s a month I had the 2nd eye done. Improving slowly but surely.

Have a nice day ๐Ÿ’

Hi Fran what a cutie๐Ÿ˜Š. We are lucky here, we still have rare creatures around like hedgehogs, slow worms and even the odd stag beetle๐Ÿœ (ok that could be an ant๐Ÿ˜‚). Thanks for the picture though ๐Ÿ˜Š.

You're right spring is in the air now...I've eggs in my inbucator and the girls are enjoying a lot more outdoor play๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ‘ญ๐Ÿ‘. I'm on day 5 after chemo so things are settling down a bit now..might try a morsel or two today, fingers crossed๐Ÿ˜‰.

Have a good day and I wish you well on your appointmentโค

My dear Anne,

I am pleased to hear things are settling down ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿงšโ€โ™€๏ธ you finish that plate young lady ๐Ÿ’•

If Iโ€™ll tell Bea about the eggs, sheโ€™ll start a farm in the garden! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Well I have one more month of anti-inflammatory drops 3x a day in my right eye and back again!

Enjoy your day sweetheart ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ˜‹

Ha ha yes I have to warn you, hatching eggs is addictive๐Ÿ˜‚.

Glad your appointment was ok. It's annoying having to use drops but at least things are progressing well for you. I suppose patience is a virtue for a reason...it takes practise๐Ÿ˜Š.

Have a good day too today ๐Ÿ˜™

in reply to breatheeasy1

Well I certainly will ๐Ÿ˜†

In fact the pharmacist has just explained to me that I have to block the tear duct with my finger when I put those drops in so they donโ€™t go systemic!! What gymnastics!!

We live and learn my dear.

Wishing you well xx

Gosh, for one moment i feared a traditional French recipe incorporating prickly ingredients was about to be produced by our newly acclaimed michelin chef.Fleetingly i imagined a Mrs Tiggy-Winkle of Swiss extraction was about to meet her end, thankfully it is just a delightful tale of two lovely ladies and an adventurous moggie rescuing wild animals on a spring evening in a distant land............eye eye Fran........Ski's and Scruffs xx

my happy friend,we will get FIFA to declare that all football matches must be played in the afternoon to accommodate you and should floodlighting be required it will be dimmed to avoid strain on your recovering eyes. xx

Yes. they were a common sight, when i was a little girl. But, Motorways and fast roads have ended all that. x

i think the demise in hedgehogs has much to do with the change in our gardens, hedgehogs like lots of natural cover and to move from garden to garden, now with the introduction of more formal gardens which also tend to be securely fenced they don't have much natural terrain to explore nor avenues to move on so to speak, just a little theory which may well be shot down in flames........Ski's and hedgehogs protected from Scruffs x

Dubba61 profile image
Dubba61 in reply to skischool

Yes, another reason for the demise if these lovely Creatures.

I agree ski, sadly our new fence has a concrete plinth, as do our neighbours. Before the hedgehogs could squeeze under the wooden fence. I have tried making a gap.

Lovely pic, I love hedgehogs, not seen one for a couple of years. We had a little one in our garden a year or so ago, it was getting near hibernating time and I was worried it was too small to survive. I called the hedgehog rescue service and they came and picked it up, they said they would keep it warm so it didnโ€™t hibernate and feed it through the winter so it would be fit for the spring.

in reply to CELAT06

Wow I didnโ€™t know there was a hedgehog rescue service. I usually call the RSPCA

Hedgehogs are so cute....never met one in person though.

Meg

in reply to megshafer

Well you have to live in the countryside I suppose, or go there for hols..

I have seen quite a few in my days, not as much as foxes. Even had foxes in London streets!

Aww i love this post so much! Was feeling quite down and this brought a smile on my face! X

Itโ€™s been soooo long since Iโ€™ve seen a hedgehog! They used to be everywhere in our garden when I was a child.. where have they gone! ?

Love your cat lol ... such a character!

Take care and thanks โ™ฅ๏ธ
