So went to the docs...

Set off for work yesterday morning, got 30 yards and started having crippling chest pains, managed to get to the bus stop where I sat on the floor and took my inhaler because of the breathlessness.

Got out my phone and messaged the boss that I probably wasn't going to make who told me to get straight to the docs.

Rang a taxi and got there 30 mins before opening and once inside was an hour til the doc even got there.

Doc checked my heart, lungs and blood pressure the latter being a tad high but nothing bad apparently.

He's booked me for tests at the hospital but since then I've done nothing but sleep and when I'm awake I'm constantly short of breath, even going to the toilet takes its toll with the breathing. I felt fine a week ago and was carrying shopping bags and walking decent distances but now I can barely move without gasping for air.

One of the husband's of one of the ladies in work has had a very bad virus, she's a bit off and I'm wondering if I've caught it, this thought only came to me this morning so didn't mention it to the doc.

There I go rambling again, back to sleep I think, even after just having close to 13 hours when I'm used to 7 lol

2 weeks off work again and I'm eating protein bars and milk with extra vitamins thrown in so I don't Starve.

Take care everyone x

Thanks all for the good wishes, to be honest im starting to feel worse, breathing is horrendous at the moment but the doctor said my lungs sound fine, got to trust them i suppose.

Its taking me 10 time longer to do anything, which isnt a lot cos i dont like sitting down for 3 or 4 hour after the slightest exertion, no chest pain to speak of, just the shortness of breath, waking up at 5 am feeling a little sick and not wanting to be because of the breathing was awful.

Had a little cough earlier and brought a load up, but i dont feel anything on there at the moment and thats really the largest amount ive ever brought up and it wasnt a lot.

Just glad i packed in the smokes when i ended up in hostpital before christmas.

Actually felt like a burdon on the doc when i went on monday with him saying my heart and lungs seem fine, but i was only a tad breathless then as i had been sat in the waiting room for over an hour and it seemed to go completely until that evening, since then it has just got gradually worse, im trying to eat but just the trip to the kitchen is a chore.

Shivering quite a lot so stuck on extra layers, might just sleep for a few days straight see if i can shake if off that way, if not i shall find a friend who is willing to take me to the walk in centre, get a second opinion.

Im trying to stay positive by reading posts on here and i know there are many many of you in much worse situations than me, part of me is still trying to get over the initial shock and thought i was on the road to being relatively healthy until friday.

I'll get there, i was doing quite well and i can be in that place again, at least in the future i wont be working with people and their germs for a while so will have the chance to do it at my own pace. No offence to people with germs, was a little joke lol

Thanks again if you got to the end of my post, i do tend to just ramble and to be honest it takes my mind off things whilst im tapping away at my keyboard.

Hi Keith, I also find it takes your mind if things if you play computer games etc, sorry you feel that you have stepped back with your recovery have you been referred for any tests..?

Hi, yes, i do play computer games, that does help. Now this evening i forced a block of cheese down my throat as i know i couldnt stand and make something and it has made me feel oddly much better, still breathless but nowhere near as bad. This makes me wonder if its something to do with blood sugars etc, im meant to be having tests done for diabetes but i havnt made an appointment to give my blood yet, thats getting done next week for sure. Doc has ordered some tests at hospital for my heart, hopefully they will come back clear then we can move onto the next part of my body lol

I find that my what I eat can ease the breathlessness, if I have a dinner it helps but just a snack can make it worse

i have been just eating protein bars the last few days but they just where not hitting the spot, the cheese was delicious but it was to add to several meals lol

Hi Keith, it dose sound like you have a bad virus going on and that in itself is aweful without the breathing probs on top, I do feel for you and hope you come through it and make a full recovery. Take care my friend and please let us know how you get on? 🙂👍
