Xray came back..

โ€ข67 Replies

Hello Everyone!

You wonโ€™t believe I have fractured a vertebra!! D7 or 8.. I know why it hurts ๐Ÿ˜ƒ plus there is still a discreet bronchitis and something with the pleura I have to google the words to understand until my next appointment. With a bit of luck the doctor will give me a ring.

A real tempest here! The wind is blowing so hard, the lake is like a choppy sea!

Anyway I went back to bed after my nebulising, but I need a cuppa after reading that!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thought I would finish on a lighter note and send you a photo of Beaโ€™s recent garden centre purchases!

Enjoy your day xx

Fran

Hi Carole

Osteoporosis it seems which fragilises the bone so when I coughed I expect. It must be between feb and now because I did the CT scan then and nothing was showing!!! but I translated the French, I have a pachypleuritis, I am now looking at what it means and treatment etc..

Last night I went on itunes and bought all sorts of imagery meditations from Belruth Naparstek, they are on their Health Journeys website and it said you can buy them on itunes. So I got

Helpful sleep which I put on Repeat with no ads interruptions ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Ease pain, relaxation, anxiety and depression I think. At 4 am ๐Ÿ˜‚

So I am now going to practice ease pain to keep my chin up!!

Love xx

Osteoporosis is a pain......literally and Petes had it for years. He was on Risidronate once a week but is now on a โ€œholidayโ€ from the drug so takes nothing.

I hope the meditation works well for you and things improve in time.

Chin up! Xx ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’–๐ŸŒˆ

Good morning, dear Fran ๐Ÿ’•

Oh my goodness me, a fractured vertebra sounds PAINFUL! When do you think that happened, or is it the dread osteoporosis??

And plenty still going on in your lungs too. Iโ€™m not at all sure how you should cope with your back to help healing, but rest is definitely on the cards for your lungs. I havenโ€™t asked lately about your damaged ankle eitherโ€ฆhowโ€™s that coming along??

The X-ray news quite a shock, Iโ€™m sure. Poor poor you. Coffee and croissant time??

I do hope for you that youโ€™re feeling better soon.

Lots of love ๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’ž Penny xx๐Ÿฆ‹

Ps Love the new garden friends ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฐ

A relaxing holiday ๐ŸŒŠsomewhere warm โ˜€๏ธwould be just what you need right now. Keep googling!! It really would help in lots of ways Iโ€™m sure. Meds will travel! I hope Bea can come too to see off her shingles....a double whammy. Not sure about Aria!

All moving on apace this week with house sale here, so no holidays yet for us. ๐Ÿ˜ŽThe paperwork keeps generating more paperwork but could be close to the end soon. Solicitor moving towards end of April....at last!! But not signed and sealed yet, so far from certain ๐Ÿ˜จ

Meanwhile, lie back with your iPad and book a good hols โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Žโ˜€๏ธLove Penny โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’œ

Happy Fran, unhappy fracture,as Penny said the osteoporosis may well be a contributing factor and i presume the only reasonable cure is plenty of rest and great care in posture and movement,i fear our dancing career is to be put on the back burner for a while and hopefully that spring sunshine will return and you can rest in the garden amongst the china bunnies and with a cat that senses all is nor quite real in this world.Strap up and wrap up and recover quickly my happy friend..............Ski's and another cat unconvinced by fake bunnies xxx

Oh Fran what are we going to do with you? What have you been up to, to break vertebrae? Sounds ever so painful honey. Do rest up and look after yourself, those videos sound like a good idea...as does bed! ๐Ÿ˜‚

I'm glad you've had a result that can now be managed though, your medical team sound efficient. Don't go scaring yourself googling that pachypleuritis though! Google terrifies me sometimes so I try to stay away!๐Ÿ˜‚

Sending lots of healing hugs and love to you...love the bunnies...I think you need some chickens though! Everyone should have chickens ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ”๐Ÿฃ xxx

๐Ÿ˜‚ At least it's some thing we know all about then๐Ÿ‘. Painful though xx.

in reply to breatheeasy1

Yes it goes a bit further than pleurisy, it can hide things, could be a result of LAM for me..they talk about fibrosis or cancer but it isnโ€™t my case, nothing in my blood bio marks

breatheeasy1 profile image
breatheeasy1 in reply to

Well at least your blood markers have come back ok. Hopefully this kind of pleurisy doesnt take longer to heal for you...so many side effects and pain dear Fran, I'm so sorry โค

in reply to breatheeasy1

Thank you Anne ๐Ÿ’“

I will be fine just not used to take such high dosage of meds. Bea is scared I think. You know I was talking to Lammies on the phone about my future role in the association and she said you start by looking after yourself! loud like the phone went silent ๐Ÿ˜ƒ of course the girls said your daughter is right, take your time etc..

Then I explained to her that I believe that having projects, carrying on with your life and your dreams is a path to recovery.

Anyway trying this zopiclone tonight I took half to see how I react. I said it to the doctor, he laughed he said as you wish you can take the other half during the night if you need to because half will only give you a max of 4h sleep! But I said on the notice it is dangerous for respiratory patients, he said only if your oxygen falls to 80 which is not your case.

So Iโ€™ll put my earphones on and listen to Belruth Naparstek on Helpful sleep on itunes, put it on repeat, that should do the trick.

Lots of love Anne, thanks for your support ๐ŸŒท๐Ÿค—๐ŸŒป

I admire you so much for wanting to volunteer and help others...they are right though you must focus on yourself first. You can't help others if you're sick.

Good luck with the meds. I'm still on diazepam, it knocks me out beautifully till about 4am then I awaken and struggle. Don't want to take more in case I don't wake when the children do ๐Ÿ˜‚. I undertand why you're nervous but we have to trust the docs know best!

Good luck for tonight, I hope you get some rest xxx

in reply to breatheeasy1

Thank you Anne xx i like diazepam as well but I donโ€™t think they would give it just for a pleurisy, i had it ater an op last time I was well relaxed.well 2 hours later I took the other half keeping my fingers crossed it can send me dreaming of better days Sleep well๐Ÿ’“

Hi, I had the same problem. I had a bad fall and doctor sent me for an ex ray. I was admitted as soon as they found out. I was transfered to Nottingham spinal unit and had a verterboplasty and biopsy this was 2 weeks today. They injected bone cement into my broken to stabilise the fracture. I now do not have pain a feel the operation was a complete success. Maybe you could talk to your doctor about having this op.

Good luck

Thanks Shirley ๐Ÿ’• I started 7 days of pristinamycine 500 today 1g x3 a day after the 8 days of clarithromycin 500..it is a special antibiotic for acute respiratory infection so will see.

The nebulising is starting to help, pulmicort and atrovent, then I have to rinse mouth, pharynx and swallow it to protect my ล“sophages x3 a day after each neb, then I disinfect everything, and finally lie down!!! Full-time job ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Yes how did I manage that?? ๐Ÿ˜ƒlast straw..

Anyway breathing better with nebs but pleurisy pain is nagging..still feeling stronger today, yes Iโ€™ve changed to Dadโ€™s last doctor at the hospital nursing home. He is caring and he investigates things. Plus the hospital being on the spot, itโ€™s handy he phoned and I had my xray straight away..I could eat today with the mycostatin rinse but I had such oral thrush with those meds, Iโ€™ve been on soups.and now Im cutting out recipes in bed and sticking them in my notebook ๐Ÿ˜ŠCheers me up!!

You still always manage to stay upbeat Fran. Just out of curiosity, has your thrush cleared up? If yes, what medication did you take? xxx

What choice do we have? Being miserable is certainly not going to help me or anybody else for that matter..it doesnโ€™t mean Iโ€™m always on top of things ๐Ÿ˜ƒbut I am a strong believer of where there is a will there is a way ๐Ÿงšโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I only started on the 9th after my evening nebs, but honestly it is great, Mycostatin 1x5ml spoon 3 times a day after each nebs for 7 days.

So sorry you've got another problem Fran. Steroids have a lot to answer for - I blame them for losing some of my teeth, giving me cateracts and thinning my skin ! Do you take the calcium and vitamin D tablets ? I do hope your back isn't too painful and I can understand Bea being anxious and thinking you should just concentrate on your own health but I also understand your view. It often helps to have something else in mind other than medication and appointments etc. I really hope you're feeling much better soon. Take care, Sheila xx

in reply to mskpjb

Thank you for your kind message Sheila โœจ

I have just had the cataract ops, I have the thinning of the skin, dermatoporosis I was told and ecchymoses. Yes I do by mouth but doctor has now increased dosage because I was again under the norm in my last blood test and Im going to have 6 monthly injections when I get over the pleurisy etc..

Yes, itโ€™s the age difference of course..we donโ€™t grow older but wiser ๐Ÿ˜ƒ. Still looking after her Mum is not a life I wish for my daughter, if I am poorly again next time Iโ€™ll go in the nursing home again. Not for the work it entails but because you know sometimes it is better that she doesnโ€™t know what is going on..Since I have been diagnosed with LAM she thinks Im going to die soon! I said no way I am here to stay ๐Ÿ˜‡but silly websites playing God give a 10-year prognosis..

So I can read my own vulnerability in her eyes..itโ€™s hard on both of us...just after we both faced Dadโ€™s passing away on our own in a foreign country.

Gives me a lot to think about, she deserves better.

Love

Fran xx

I do understand what you mean Fran. We don't want our children to live in fear of what's going to happen to us. When I was still living quite a distance from my remaining son he'd ring me every evening and I'd manage to adopt a bright and cheerful tone no matter how low I felt.

Bea is a loving and intelligent daughter so she's going to worry about you. The best thing you can do is take really good care of yourself and get better from all the knocks you've had recently. The worry of your Dad's gradual deterioration and then the funeral will all have taken their toll. Love to you both, Sheila xx
