Are you doing them yourself or are the community IV team coming in? I much prefer to do my own IVs at home if well enough. Better to be at home. Wish you and your Dad well.

I hope that your dads health improves rapidly on hospital admission and also that your i.v antibiotics sort out your own infection..it might be useful for your dads health care to advise the hospital what infection you are being treated for........regards skis

in reply to skischool

Hi Skischool did tell doctors and they said dad would be iller than already is.

My dad’s home and he is far from right THINK hospital sent him home as this nothing can be done.

So sorry your dad is poorly Jeff. I'm sorry, no idea about home ivs but I really hope it makes a difference and you feel better very soon. xx 🌱

in reply to Caspiana

Hi Caspiana since I read letter about home iv’s feel tad vindicated about what I said about my lung doctor being reckless unprofessional dangerous WHEN she stoped my maintenance antibiotics.

Dad is back home and is far from right really HOW hospital can discharge someone who is shaking and can’t eat or drink Is beyond me.

I think it’s is mind that as took further hits SO is not looking too good really

I was watching a documentary about the NHS on BBC 2. There are so many patients, not enough beds. I feel very sorry, so many very ill people cannot be admitted and people who are not well enough are discharged. The hospital staff do their best but are so overstretched. Your poor dad. I can only hope he can feel comfortable very soon.

I remember you mentioning your maintenance antibiotics being stopped. I hope you and your dad catch a break soon.

Take care. Sending warm wishes. xx 🌹

Morning Jeff, things are not going well for you these past few weeks, but now you know it is bacterial; and needs antibiotics and so will your doctor. Could be the same for your dad too, so think hospital is the best for him till you are fully recovered as you need to rest as well as the IV biotics. Hope all smooths out soon and you both recover from this bacterial infection. Take care, keep warm and pamper yourself a little till your dad can come home again. You need to be better to care for him. Every best wish

Sorry if a previous 1 liner got through,I'd tried to delete it. Anyway JAS this is not a good time for you and for Dad. Like u said,if only your letter had arrived a wee bit earlier eh? I'm hoping that Dad will go to your local hospital but until your iv AB's are done, you can't really move. This whole situation could easily develop into a predicament! If all your research over the months is shown to yours and Dads medical team,I wonder if it would make them realise you do your research and you do know what you are talking about.....just no letters after your name.

Do try and stay positive during these times and ,the obvious..... Keep us all up-to-date.

Kind wishes.
