So sorry things haven't gone the way you had hoped ... what has your medical team /consultant told you regarding palliative care ... it does not only mean end of life care ...some cases then of course but it is also to help some patients manage a serious health condition and lead a better quality of life ... it also helps with your emotional aspects of the illness and offers a support network in order for the patient and family to all be working together and getting all the input they need to maintain their illness ... obviously you will know a little better regarding what is your husbands prognosis but remember where there is life there is hope and everyone reacts to treatment different ...Oh I only know cos my brother in law is going through the same thing( palliative care ) ...xxx

You nd your husband are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Hun, as other people have already said everyone is different !!! There is always hope XXX they put me on pallative care 2 years ago , I was very poorly in and out of hospital five times in twelve months !!! Pneumonia, plurisy ,sepsis and other bits , then my son died and I didn't care if I lived or died , then realized I had a husband that loved me two daughters ,five grandchildren and three great grandchildren !!!! And decided I was not going anywhere !!! I told the drs I'm not going anywhere till our Jacob gets married , he was twelve month old at the time !!! Haha I have my really bad days and everyday is a struggle on oxygen ,but hey I'm still here !!!! So please try and stay positive ,every day is a new day XXX bless you both xxxx

I was referred to the Macmillan palliative care nurse and also got a bit worried. That is until it was explained to me that the system has changed. Palliative care is now put in place if possible at a time when it can be enjoyed, if that is the right word, and not at the end. I now go to a local Hospice Day Therapy unit one day a week, which is fun and interesting, over alternate six week periods. Hope this helps ease your thoughts. Wish you both all the best.

Been through it with my mom. They managed her symptoms. Continued medications and gave moral support to her and the family. I am praying for you and your husband. Hopefully he,will be comfortable and not sufferand there is a ways hope. I was diagnosed with COPD last year and try to keep a positive attitude. May the Lord be good to you both
