I’m taking Spiriva as an additional inhaler for my asthma but it’s primarily for people with COPD. It’s also a non steroid inhaler which was one of the reasons I wanted to try that one rather than the other options. Might be worth mentioning it to your GP.

Hi

A list of inhalers. ICS are the ones with steroids.

Just to give you an idea of the difference in cost of meds, I looked up Spiolto on your list at 32.50 pounds (equals 40 dollars US) for one vs same brand in States at more than 70 dollars. According to the chart you sent, we in the US pay more than twice what you Brits pay.

Count your blessings.

We are lucky and need to fight to keep our NHS otherwise we will be like the USA xx

Is Duaklir Genuair

available in the UK? It is a lama and laba that is taken twice daily. No steroids.

I was given it as an alternative to Spiriva but unfortunately, I did not have enough suction to get it to work.

Oh, that's too bad. Perhaps they can figure a way someday to make it an inhaler like albuterol.

My pulmonologist put me on Stiolto (Spiolto?) Respimat as I, too, wanted to get off the steroids. I have COPD (emphysema) & originally put on Advair, a powder base inhaler. The Stiolto is so much easier on the throat as it is a mist. It’s a long term - once a day - & no steroids. I receive it through Canada as it it very expensive in the States & my Re insurance does not pick up on it. It’s shipped from the UK, where I believe it is manufactured. Check with your MD; it may work for you. Good luck!

serevent it is one off the older drugs it s working for me. I try to save the steroids for when I have a raging chest infection. I don't tolerate them very well on a regular bases . I have been using Azithromycin over the winter it will be the first winter in a long time that I have come through without a infection. I am lucky to have a consultant that takes the time to listen and allows me to tweak the drugs to limit the side affect were all different and need to do what feels right for oneself one size does not always work for everyone
