Lung cancer help needed.

After a cruel winter of illness and many tests, I've been diagnosed with incurable stage 4 non small cell adenocarcinoma. It has spread in my lungs and chest cavity so far, but not beyond. My only options are chemo which has 30per cent chance of delaying things. Still comes with all the side effects. Or going into a drug trial with unknown outcome(death being a listed possibility)

I am very keen to try alternative therapies,( at my own expense) and have seen great clinics in Mexico , and Paris. Currently, it would be very risky travelling . Please can anyone help recommend any clinics , medicines alternative practitioners, (with track records) who can help me? I want to extend my life until my youngest daughter finishes school in 4years. It really is a matter of life or death, and my daughters need me.

I am so sorry. I have not had Cancer. I truly hope you find the best way forward for you.

So sorry dear Lady Clara..

I have LAM or lymphangioleiomyomatosis a degenerative disease. I would like to see my grandchildren grow..

I would suggest the full treatment as agressive as it may be..

Alternative therapies will help you bear with a daily intake of medication etc but are not a substitute for medical care. But they certainly do help me improve my physical and mental well-being..

I would choose a good hospital and stay at home, in your home country I mean, close to your family and friends.

We now know that being among people who are dear to us is a positive factor.

Take good care of yourself xx

I am so sorry LadyClariby, I wish I could give you some proven alternate practices but I don't have a clue. I know this is everyone's fear especially anyone with any type of lung problems. The best I can do is pray which I will gladly do. Please keep us informed.

What terrible news, I would dearly love to help you, but I can point you to UHS (University Hospital Southampton) where they are developing immunology treatments for cancer at their new research facility. They may be only trials too. I will message a couple of phone numbers to you that may prove useful.

Dear ladyClaraby,i can't add anything useful except to say that i agree with what Happy Fran and 2 g's have said, the alternative therapies tend to be both unproven and time consuming when conventional treatments though not ideal can be found close to home and the possibility of taking part in trial drugs seems to be at least controlled and you can always fall back or complement with known therapies and control any known side effects.i wish you the very best of luck and offer strength and hope for a favourable outcome............skis and scruffy cat xxx

Hello Hidden .

I'm sorry to hear your terrible news. I have never experienced cancer myself, but when I was a child my grandfather had cancer of the throat. They gave him six months. He underwent treatment and lived another eighteen years. And that was decades ago. Cancer treatment has progressed so much now. Please don't lose faith. You are stronger than you think and braver than you feel.

Sending love and hugs.

I really wish I had a magic wand to make everything better for you. I hope you make the right decision for yourself. Know that we are all wishing you well and do come on to have a good moan if you ever feel like it. None of us is afraid to do that because keeping up a cheerful face for our loved ones is hard sometimes. Much love, Sheila xx
