Hi everyone! Please don't use paraffin candles! If you have any lung issues or just want to live longer don't use paraffin, it is toxic. I would suggest beeswax candles. The reason being is beeswax Burns very clean, kills dust mites, discharges negative ions therefore attracting all kinds of pollutants in our air. It cleans our air so we can breathe better! Not only that, it burns longer. Whereas paraffin candles are cheap.

Google it you'll be surprised! Google beeswax candles and benefits

Have a great day!

In Research beeswax candles have been found to be safer than paraffin. Sadly they still give out chemical that can affect or trigger reactions in people with COPD. There as been some research into the harm that paraffin candles can cause in people with normal lung function. However l can find no research from a recognised academic establishment that recognised any benefit in beeswax candles in COPD.

This article is about long term use of Paraffin candles.

Interesting... but I did not say that beeswax "benefited" people with COPD only that paraffin is toxic and if you are going to burn candles to be aware of what we're breathing in, Thank you for taking the time to look up that article. 😊

Hi Lindy-loo ( love the name) my reference to COPD was made in the context that beeswax candles made the air cleaner. They contain scents etc which in some cases could trigger a reaction in some people. Obviously you enjoy them with no problems.

God knows what things we've inhaled through life! I remember I thought I was being cool and bought an old oil lamp. Woke up the next morning with soot all over the bedroom ceiling, had breathed it in all night due to falling asleep with it burning! 😣

Hi lindy loo, thank you for your post, I will pass this onto my daughter as she loves candles. I am fairly ignorant so will ask, what are the normal candles made from that are on the shelf in stores? I ask because when I had a power cut a while ago I used these candles and nearly choked coughing. Will look up the beeswax candles, they maybe better when I am visiting my daughter as she cant burn any when I am there now that I have this bronchiectasis. Irene x

Hi! Lindy, I use those battery operated candles in all sizes. They are starting to make some very good ones. You can hardly tell with some of them.
