Endoscopy today

Finally had the endoscopy today, I'd decided no sedation..... Well that won't be happening again. Stupidly I assumed it would be like a small wire but no hosepipe more like!

Anyway I managed only cos I'm pretty good at mind over matter stuff and doctor wasngreat and nurses lovely at relaxing me and keep chatting to me. But it was not pleasant and if I ever have to have one again I will definitely opt for sedation and plenty of it! Of course didn't help as still can't breathe too well out of my left nostril following the sinus surgery a month ago.

Good news is no hernia and no erosion so that's a great sign. Manotry and gut thing next week to look forward to but am assured it's nowhere near as bad as the endoscopy.

At least it’s done now. Not nice though. I had an endoscopy years ago with sedation and didn’t like it one bit.

Good luck for next week. Xxxxx

With is definitely better, still not pleasant but far more tolerable.

Meant the surgeon was good, brilliant made sure the hose thing didn't touch the sides to make it more tolerable.

Good thing to get out of the way. I’ve always opted for the spray as not only are they not keen on sedating me, I find the recovery so much quicker and I can get out of there! Mind I ask for more spray.

Hope all is well and good luck with further investigations.

I have had both ends three times so far - never ever have it done without sedation. I learned that lesson very well after the first lot. Now I get put out before I even see the scopes:)

I’m the opposite, never had either done with sedation. I think it depends who you get to be honest. Had nothing and had entinox. Not great either way!

I agree and was the same way. I certainly wouldn't have it without sedation.

I had my first with just the spray, what a nightmare, I gagged for England. Sedation ever since, happy to just relax til I get over it. Anyway well done for getting it over with, without hernia or erosion being found :)

I got to have it down again. I (WILL) have sedation. The first time i refused sedation as im a tough cookie, the hosepipe went down and the vomit kept coming up. They looking for my missing blood and iron again. Got another blood clot on my lung and animia again just couldnt get my breath just crossing a room. Thats a.bit better now but my feet and left leg are swollen quite bad. Dont know what to do about that. I look down at them and they are not my leg's i swear. X😁
