Relvar

Hi

I’ve been on Serevent 500 accuhaler for quite sometime but consultant says when I see him again in 4 months he’s going to be changing to Relvar inhaler. Just wondered if anyone else has this?

I have Bronchiectasis but when I have googled this it says it’s for people with COPD.

I am on Serevent and Alvesco now plus Ventolin and Atrovent on demand. I have lymphangioleiomyomatosis alias LAM and severe asthma.

Hi there

I have a relvar ellipta inhaler. I have COPD and I have looked on the patient information leaflet that came with it and it says it is for COPD and asthma. It contains fluticasone furoate which is a steroid and vilanterol which is a long acting bronchodilator. No mention of bronchiectasis on the leaflet.

Hopefully someone else can give you more information.

Thank you for that Roseking, I have heard so many times that COPD and Bronchiectasis are not treated the same so I will be asking my consultant why he thinks this is for me. 😊

Hi dawnsunny I use revlar and to be honest it is a god send for me and so so glad I was given it although everyone is different but give it a go I say then you will know if it suits you I couldn't do without mine now, I too have bronchiectasis and copd xx

Hi, I used relvar (also have mild bronchiectasis) and I found it very helpful for chest but I didn't like the steroid part of it because I tend to suffer with thrush - hence my GP swapped me to Anoro - the drug info sheet also says that it is for COPD - so I don't think that this is a problem. I think the most important factor is wether or not it works for you

I've been on it for 3 months now and am beginning to think its not working for me. My breathing doesn't seem to be as good, I've had 3 headaches where as before I maybe get one or 2 a year. My bowel seem to be playing up and my voice box is affected and also I think it creates the claggy in back of throat which does respond to carbocisteine (I also have mild bronchiectasis) I think I am going to have to speak with doc / respiratory nurse, it was the consultant that recommended it, but I wonder if I could be better on Trimbow, it has 2 of the medicines I was on previously although taken separately.

Well it’s taken a while but got my prescription for it yesterday so will be picking it up today,

I’m guessing I need to give it a go but I should have asked why the change if seretide is and has worked for sometime??

Does anyone know why they would change it?

(Don’t try to fix what isn’t broken kinda of thing)
