Chronic Bronchial Sepsis

Hi, I’ve just had these words written on a letter with my diagnosis

“Mild bi-lateral Bronchiectasis with chronic bronchial sepsis and pseudomonas colonisation “

Can anyone explain what this all is?

Sorry if that sounds silly but was only told I had Bronchiectasis!

Thank you in advance.

Dawn

Someone will be on here soon to help. All sounds like a lot to take in at once. I have pseudomonas colonisation and bronchiectasis in both lungs but never heard the other one. I think we have cnnectewill follow this thread.

Sorry Dawn my typing no so hot. I am in hospital right now and l think we have already connected when l posted about eradication of pseudomonas. My finger slipped on last reply before l had chance to correct the mistakes.

I am thank you. Still in hospital hoping to leave tomorrow. It will be late as last infusion is around 10pm. Don’t know if you saw my post to Janice but 2 errors here. Had picc line inserted in theatre Monday. Removed on Tuesday due to night staff being unable to deal with it. Long story short had to sleep in it when hadn’t been flushed or removed. Result blocked. Had to come out due to concerns over infection and clots. Second mishap. My cannula was flushed with metronidazole instead of sodium chloride. Can’t wait to get out of here as it is a special ward set up for winter pressure. Full of very poorly people with all sorts. I have a single room but no toilet so share with others. Wouldn’t normally bother me but my immune system is so low just right for picking up things like c diff which the consultant told me is on the ward!, l will be fine when l get home and just get on with my life as normal. Still have to have colomycin nebulised at home.

Thank you for thinking about me. Hope you have decided what to do about travel insurance.xxx

So sorry to hear about your experience, it’s all very scary to start with without all those errors. I do hope your out very soon!

How were you day to day before you started on Colomycin?

That’s my next thing to happen.

We have just booked our little trip, only 5 days . Still to book the flights and take up insurance but at least hotel done so almost there. Got a good quote so when we are ready I’ll ring up.

I just pray I’m ok to go when it comes now or I’ll be so upset!

Take care and let me know how you get on xx
