Hi all I have always been interested in a medication which was given to me

As a child in the 1960s called Franol a small white tablet cant find any info about it

Can anyone help it was a strange drug and used to give me hallucinations

I did work though

Thanks so much for that info I have been looking for a long time I was prescribed this when I was nine

Not sure but I think it may have been discontinued just a few years ago.

I remember Franol from the 70s Marti1. But I don't remember if it helped with the asthma I had developed around then. Generally I don't think theophiline helped me when I was hospitalised so probably not. I didn't know it was still being prescribed but it would seem so from andyrrc's link.

I remember Franol. It contained ephedrine & something else I can't remember. I was quite young when I first went on ephedrine (went onto Franol a bit later) but I clearly remember the long, sleepless nights and the terrible dreams. Personally I'd never take it again but anyway I'm not sure you can get it in the UK now - these old drugs are often available in undeveloped countries but their side effects have led to them being discontinued here.
