Help us raise awareness of lung conditions in Wales

Hi everyone,

My name is Lyndsey Watson, and I'm the Communications Officer for the British Lung Foundation in Wales.

A part of my role is to raise awareness of lung conditions through case studies (which I send to the press and other media outlets), and I was wondering if you could help me?

If you have a lung condition, would you be happy sharing your story with me? If you don't have a lung condition, but care for someone who does, I'd still love to hear from you. Carers also need recognition for doing a fantastic job!

I have an asthma cough myself, but compared to some of the conditions you have, it's nothing. Until I started working for the BLF I didn't realise how many people were living with a lung condition. This is why I really want to raise the profile of lung conditions in Wales, and I can't do it without your help.

If this is something you would be happy to do - get in touch.

- Follow me on here and send a message

- Drop me an email Lyndsey.watson@blf.org.uk

- Tweet me @blfwales

Hi LyndseyWales I also live in Wales and in fact moved to Freshwater West specifically for the high salt content in the air. I have moderate Copd, which was initially diagnosed in 2013, and moved a year later to run a village shop. I have not had a cold or infection since then, however I had to close the shop as my health had deteriorated in other ways. After visiting my GP and having various tests and an Mri scan was found to have polymyalgia, osteoporosis, silent reflux and a cyst in the centre of my brain. I am curious about the connection and/or possible misdiagnosis of copd and Gerd, or I can my case silent reflux and wondered if you had any info or articles on this subject.

Best of luck in your new position

Rose
