hello I'm tom I'm 60 was diagnosed in 2011 with emphysema which I'm just about managing with medication , winter is worst with chest infections looking forward to getting to know people on here , just been reading the posts did I read there are over 30000 members wow that's a staggering amount , are weekday quieter on here as been reading though the posts I noticed most don't seem to have many replies a few do but most under 10 which seemed strange with 30000 members and only a few reply at work I guess or busy also was reading one post that said locked for more replies why is that , any way hope to meet a few of you take care ever one

Welcome to the forum tom60. We haven't quite reached 30,000 yet but will soon get there. Some members have become inactive, some like to visit and read without contributing and others post regularly. You will soon get to know the ones who post most often.

thank you for the welcome , sorry I must have read the numbers wrong I thought 17000 new members was a lot in 2 years something like just over 20 new members per day , the site must keep you very busy welcoming all those new people , but sad to see so many with breathing problems , I'm sure I will so get to know people

Some times it’s difficult to give advice in a reply for various reasons but don’t let this put you off asking . There are usually others who have or have had the same particular problem who will help you even if it’s only a word of sympathy or encouragement.
