Rather belated New Year Greetings, Everyone!

I am sorry this post is nearly a week late but I have been thinking of you all and hoping and praying that you will all remain as healthy as you possibly can during 2018. We had a lovely Christmas in a rental cottage on the N Norfolk Coast. There were our 2 grandchildren (12 and 10), my son and his wife (who 2 weeks before Christmas had to have a hysterectomy!), my daughter and her husband and my husband and me. We hadn't spent Christmas like this since well before the grandchildren were born, so it was VERY special. The cottage was a home from home - if a little large for me to walk round! However because it was big, I was able to be pushed around in my wheelchair indoors as well as out. Holiday oxygen delivery all went well and we all thought I had done really well. I still feel I did well but sadly our homecoming showed that none of us had noticed a sudden deterioration in my condition. My breathing had deteriorated so much (lung capacity was only 27% last Aug), that every time I moved anything at all, I became extremely breathless, nauseous and panicky. In the afternoon of 1st Jan, my husband and I decided we required some help. Within an hour and a half, both the community hospice nurse and district nurse had arrived bearing all sorts of goodies for me. Two wonderful injections that helped me get some very much needed sleep and my dear husband some rest from me for a while. Having stayed to make sure the injections had worked, the 2 nurses left. We had telephone calls from each of them over the next 12 hours or so, with the last call offering me a bed here in the Princess Alice Hospice, where I am receiving 100%+++ care. (It's not their fault my body doesn't like one of the drugs in the syringe driver, so they have to keep resiting it!).

So my Christmas story started well, had a bit of a dodgy time in the middle until now when I am being kept comfortable and my spirits up, and I give thanks for all I receive from my dear family and friends (which includes ALL of you too). I feel truly blessed and I pray for all of you espcially those of you who are going through a tough time at the moment. 💝💝😊xx
