Aching joints

Hello All

Hope you have all had as good Christmas and new year.. touch wood since I started my long term antibiotics I’ve been well!

I’m on holiday at the moment in Wales and I’ve noticed particularly this last week that my joints are achy as we’ve done more walking than normal. I know this is something that can come alongside having Bronchiectasis but I wondered if anyone takes anything or does anything to ease this? I thought about some sort of supplement like cod liver oil??

Could it be your holiday bed? I mention this because my shoulders, upper arms & back have been so painful for a couple of months. Over Christmas I gave up my bedroom to son & his wife & baby. I slept in another fairly new bed, after a few days I noticed most of the pain has gone. Wondering if it's the bed change.

I suppose it could be although I had felt the bed was quite comfortable I suppose it could still be affecting me.. we go home tomorrow so if it goes off then I will know m. Thanks x

Walking and the damp maybe? I would imagine it's been quite damp being Wales? I love it there in the summer!

Maybe have your vitamin D levels checked in case they're bit low?

Yes it has been damp and we’ve done some walking too so it probably is those things I’m sure but just made me wonder if others have the same issue and if they take any supplements or anything to ease it x

Hi knicho. I was putting the aching shoulders and arms down to the damp weather. But I too have been on long term antibiotics azithromycin. My emphysema and bronchestasis have been much better but does anyone think it could be a side effect. Love a cup of tea but holding the cup is something else, sorry to winch. Jane

Hello

Ahh maybe it could be then although when you read the symptoms that can come alongside bronchiectasis aching joints is on there too. I’m sure the cold and damp weather doesn’t help though!

Mine is more my hip joints that ache and if I sit for a long while when I get up I can’t walk as I’m all seized up x

I take cod liver oil daily, a teaspoon in the morning with breakfast, and am sure it helps. I also wear a copper bracelet, which has an effect too, according to my friend who gives my feet a reflexology massage every couple of weeks.
