Nose bleeds

I am a COPD sufferer and on home oxygen almost 24/7 now. Just lately I have suffered 3 really serious nosebleeds the first of which we called an ambulance for but the last two I have finally managed to stop myself but its taken a good half hour. Does anybody know if the oxygen is the cause for drying out my nasal passages? Does anybody else have this problem?

"When you first start using oxygen you may experience nose bleeds which should stop as your nose becomes used to it; if they persist contact your GP."
