Autogenic training..

Hello BLF friends

This is how I came to meditation in fact. Truth is I had a small cancer years ago..I felt alright while I had gathered my energy to fight it but I needed the relaxation technique to get on with family life and work. It is a suggestive method.

In fact I was taught to do my own, once trained I can start by saying that my right arm is heavy and I will have conditioned my body..then you go on with different parts of your body and you start again with your right arm being heavy and warm..

I thought this technique may be more useful to some. I still use it in hospital while waiting for an op for example.

One day when I was living in Spain I had to have a gyne op and I was waiting for hours for my turn to go in theatre, no relaxant no pills nothing so I did my autogenic training. Then they moved me in a preparation room where the anesthesist shouted at me in Spanish about having cholesterol!! I mean a sketch, Faulty Towers with John Cleese and Manuel at his best..when she finished, got into theatre, I was still practicing because they put this sheet over your face so you don’t see anything and although I didn’t feel anything I could hear voices with fun things like pass me the scalpel or can I have suction..

Well to add to it all when I was finally in bed sleeping deeply, the surgeon comes by past midnight and said you can go home now. I said I paid for bed and breakast and I’m not moving.

And I was right because recovery was one of the worst I ever had. So never go to the Teknon in Barcelona even if you ever go and live in the city..

Anyway I will post some links for you below

Bea and I WhatsApp from each other’s room 😃 and guess who took her place in bed..

Morning Fran, that seems very interesting and certainly came in useful in Barcelona. What an awful experience for you but glad you did recover, no thanks to the hospital.

Cheeky Aria but so cute.
