Huff Puff Results !!!

Yesterday, I had an appointment with my Lung Consultant re my results to go forward for Lung Reduction. I have to wait for a CT Scan as yet, to make sure there is enough Lung to take away, it seems from "Never Possible" two years ago. to " It could be possible" Of Course there are a lot more Tests to be done, but as its Christmas everything Stops, Words from my Consultant, unless I get that magic call. Then , I have to pray I survive the transplant as she said . "Carolina Your Not getting any Younger" so it may never happen...The offer of an Alternative is like choosing Aldi's Tea bags or Gin ( I don't like gin), Sorry I shouldn't Jest, This is serious. I will continue with my Rehab, she is going to refer an extension for me, this, with my Breathe Easy Exercise classes, have improved my Lung Function. Today we have our Christmas Fuddle at Breathe Easy, I have made a Delicious Spanish Tortilla.....Next week another Fuddle for our Exercise Class, this is where I make a Cake , A Birthday Cake as it falls on my Birthday, Not that I particularly want to be this old. Encouraging results mi amiga,has your consultant discussed the less invasive methods of lung reduction such as the coils or valves,of course also dependant on the condition of your lungs but less brutal in a certain fashion,but by compressing useless lung tissue and opening up prospective airways still achieving increased lung function and exercise tolerance and of course still leaving open the prospect of a complete lung transplant.

Anyway as you say the Christmas hiatus(did mary and joseph get bank holidays)will leave you time to enjoy festive treats with your family and carry on with your exercise regime,maybe pulling Santa's sled? onwards and upwards my dear Senora.............besos Skis and Scruffy x

Yes, she discussed valves as she doesn't believe in Coils ! This all has to be anylised after my scan. A lot to take on, in a half hour Appointment, feel a bit rushed sometimes. I will be reading up on all the alternatives after Navidad, Too much to do with familiar aqui. I will keep you informed.. Muchos Besos a ti y Scruffietta. XXXX

Hi Carolina are you not waiting a double transplant?? Or am I getting mixed up oh and heard lots of people on here mention breath easy class what is it and how do you get on one as i do PR but never heard of the other? Hope all your waiting pays off and positive thinking is the key as like you said they told you it could never happen to now being possible xxx take care xx mel xx

Hi Mel,

Yes, I'm on the active list for double Lung Trx. I go to PR also, every Monday & Friday Mornings, Breathe Easy is a Spin off created by patients who have come to the end of their Rehab and need to have further Exercises. I, and my Lung Friends set our group up nearly 4 years ago, you can approach BLF as they are our HQ. I am on my 4th Rehab Course and My Consultant has also referred me to carry on as I need to keep my strength to feel alive and ready for that call if it comes? I may go down another road yet, re Lung Reduction, but that is to be discussed after Christmas with Scans & Further Tests... Your PR Nurse should Know of your local Breathe Easy Class, ask her.
