Oxygen out of control

why would my oxygen level go from 52 up to 93 then back to 76 in less than a minute? I have COPD & was on O2 but 3 months ago the sats stayed in the high 90s & the O2 was discontinued. Now all of a sudden this!Needless to say I'm dragging the O2 tube around again.

Hi

First I would question the reliability of the oximeter.

They can start high/ low requiring time to settle.

The numbers you have given aren’t consistent with that scenario.

Are the batteries in good order, making sure your fingers are warm and dry, and try three times in quick succession.

Give you respitory nurse a ring for a more detailed examination.
