Hi my husband has sarcoidosis and spent just over a week in hospital with pneumonia. Since he was discharged 10 days ago his Sats at rest have been 88-90 and with any activity fall to 75-85, this morning they were 65 after going upstairs. He spoke to his GP who said not to worry as long as they are ok at rest. Has anyone else experienced this post Pneumonia and how long did it take to go back to normal?

Pneumonia
It tzkes a long time for your lungs to recover. Hopefuly each day will get better. Try and rest as much as he can. Give it another week unless feeling worse then see gp
Hope feel better soon
Thank you
During the weeks of recovery from a bad infection like pneumonia, it can take quite some time for the sats on exertion to come back up to normal levels. Mine stay in the low-to mid 80s until I am completely better. During this time, I take it easy and get back on my feet in slow, regular bouts of activity. I'll go out and about but mostly driving and just walk short distances. After about two weeks they generally improve to normal levels - around 89/90 on exertion for me. My consultant told me not to worry about this as it's a normal part of recovery from the illness. But you will know yourself that if your husband does not improve at all or seems worse, that you should get him checked out.
