i haven't skied for a few years, but normally,Italy,Austria and Canada i could never afford Switzerland as it was too expensive,i like my vino cheap and cheerful i also like high altitude slopes to guarantee snow but also tree lined slopes so a bit of an enigma there. You are living in a very beautiful place.xx

in reply to skischool

I worked in Switzerland, taught actually and we used to get our free season ski pass from the school. I bought my own skis and boots once I got confident 😃

Still that was a while ago 😊 I can’t go above 1,200 m really nowadays, and snow is scarce at that altitude thanks to global warming. I lived in the mountains for 14 years. Beautiful yes.

Hope you still have fun skiing this winter x

i have my own skis and boots but i have lost my ski partner alas, and being on ambulatory now i will have to wear my portable at least down to the first gondola stop lol,not fit enough after a 4 year break i can hear my ligaments popping even as i dream about it.Mountains are certainly my passion in life, now it will have to be desert island paradises and snorkelling.no more scuba, horrible what we lose with lung diseases but can't complain as loads of peeps worse off than me.thanks for the lovely photo xx

What a lovely view. Mine and my husband’s plans for retirement was to move to France, to the Vosges, overlooking Gerardmer. Health issues put an end to that and I now have to put up with photos and memories, and the knowledge that there are many, many people in a worse state than me.

in reply to helenlw7

Hi Helen

Oh I am sorry, health care is good in France and chronic diseases care is free. Yes we can think that way.. I do, I see elderly people much worse than me as well when I attend to my parents..

I will keep on posting photos for you.

Thinking of you x

Thank you. I know that health care in France is very good but I didn’t realise it was free for people with chronic disease. I think it’s a confidence thing on my part. Any there’s always holidays to look forward to. My sister has a holiday house about half an hour from the Med near Narbonne and go there for a month in September. That keeps me going.
