COPD Cough

I have suffered COPD?Emphysema for the past 27 years and never really had a bad cough apart from with a chest infection. This past 3 months however I have had a really annoying cough with a fair amount of cream phlegm, went to the GP who sent me for a chest x-ray which has come back clear so all good in that respect. Have others had to cope with this problem and if so how do I get rid of it. It is so tiring and annoying to others. Any advice would be appreciated

My first thought as you had not had this cough before was that maybe you had come in contact with something new in the environment. Perhaps try keeping a diary to see if the cough is particularly worse at any given times. Also keep a note of any substances that have been used etc

Thank you had it for so long now I would have no idea what I was doing when it first started, probably not much as I only tend to go out shopping once a week and at home most of the other time and I have not used anything any different within the house.
