Anti biotic side effects

Amoxicillin on day three made me throw out heat continuously so I couldn't even sleep. Anyone else had this? I asked the doctor but he had no explanation.

Side effects are awful, just have to find what suits you best and suits the bacteria..I am allergic to penicillin so the doctor said when I came out in a rash years ago. Now the hospital wants to test me because it is such a vital antibiotics. I suppose I will have to go for tests soon.

Could the heat be due to your infection?

Interestingly I didn't have a temperature

that happened only once to me it turned out a secondary infection had snook in. my usual side effect of amoxicillin is the galloping ab's trots fingers crossed on them now but doing well so far, I think it has helped by the fact it was some time ago since I had my last lot.

Allergic reactions like skin rash, itching, hives, or swelling of the face, lips, or tongue. ...

Breathing problems. ...

Diarrhea. ...

Stomach upset. ...

Headache. ...

Dizziness. ...

Redness, blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin, including inside the mouth.

Looking at the first and last symptoms suggests that the drug in some way CAN affect the skin and therefore POSSIBLY temperature - I'd ask for an alternative. Amoxicillin is a "broad spectrum" antibiotic so is a jack-of-all-traded AB, maybe a more specific, targeted AB would be better anyway?

It's not always an antibiotic that's at fault .......it could be an interaction of an antibiotic and another medication . This has happened to me very recently.
