Flu jab!

Hi all.

Been for my review with a new surgery today, nurse was exceptional, nothing was too much trouble for her.

My readings are not looking good at 35%,down 1% on last year.

I had a really bad chest infection at new year, and am even now constantly coughing and producing phlegm, some days it's green others it's brown,on the odd occasion it's clear.I have had numerous courses of erythromycin which don't touch it.

This is probably not doing my readings very much help😪

I actually had a flu jab too, which for the past 3 years I have declined due to the fact it gave me tummy pains, but I decided to have it today...and I've popped an omeprazole in just in case😊

The lovely Gayle (nurse),wanted me to go back to see a doc this evening, then she decided that because I have to cab it everywhere, she would give me a course of doxycycline caps to try and ease my cough.plus,I was given a sputum pot!! And was told if the tablets don't work,to do a sample and take it in for checking,Never, ever have I had to do a sputum sample since being diagnosed in 2010! I cannot praise this surgery enough for all the help I am receiving in trying to help with my copd.

I'm just praying the tablets work this time.

I'm getting a bit anxious about my levels too.

Is anybody else on here that low?

Love to all.xxxx

There are many members here way lower than you Fantasy. Im at 33% last time. 1% change is nothing to worry about, it could be due to anything, how you felt on the day, time of day, any infection etc etc.

If you have an infection that's not responding, you should always do a sputum sample - I would always do one anyway at the start of any infection, just to make sure Im using the right AB. I hope you feel better this time but do take a sample in if you don't.

Oh my! Hope the medication will help you to get that sorted!! 😉 I have at least once a year a sputum test. Because I am lot allergic to a lot of antibiotics and penicillin, so my doctor's struggle a bit I guess to think what they can give me. But I always get it sorted 😁 for I am very happy!! Nothing is worse to have doctors they don't help you. But I guess you are in good hands 🤗🤗

Have some happy thoughts and some fun 🌹❣️🌹it will help And support you that you getting better again ❣️❣️❣️❣️

I had mucus like yours & instead of putting me on antibiotics G.P gave me Carbocisteine

tablets which help to break up mucus together with a little blow tube made by Clement Clarke Internatinal CM20 2TT UK. If you "huff" into this gadget it brings forth a cough and out comes the mucus. Doesn't solve the problem of the nucus but it does help to rid you of excess coughing fits. Together they may be useful.
