It all started when i was sitting hime doing nothing, i smoked some weed and got a weird cold feeling in chest. I ignored it and it went away in 5 min. A week later i was watching tv and i got a sharp pain on right shoulder and back, and i coukdnt breath a full breath just on that one side. Went to er and i got x-ray and had 40 percent of my lung collapsed for no reason apparently. They inserted a chest tube and from there i stayed in hospital for 5 days and it didnt reinflate so i got sent to another hospital where they put tube on suction to suck air out. My lung reinflated a day or two later and they took tube out. After i got home thats when the shirness of breath started. It started to feel like i had to yawn to catch my breath and coukdnt walk far without panting, and that was about 2 months ago. So went back to dr and he said its just pleursy and should go away on its own. Well be sent me home with no prescription or anything. My shortness of breath still hasnt gone away, im having it rn matter of fact. Im only 19? I also use to smoke but only for 2 years and wasnt heavy cig smoker. But going to dr today or tomorrow for test such as catscan and ekg and so on. I just home what ever is going on can be fixed. I still have a long life to live. Ill keep updated through this entire process and walk you guys thru. I just hope i dont have lung cancer or something that shortens life spand.

Hope you get things sorted out. Pleurisy is painful and can last for ages. Very unlikely to be lung cancer at your age I would have thought, so try not to worry xx
i think if you had lung cancer they would of figured it out by now its always a scare when you dont no whats goin on i no how you fee,l i hope things work out for you take care .
Whatever the outcome I think you'd be better off if you didn't smoke weed. Any kind of smoking isn't good for your lungs.
Well done for stopping smoking.
It's very unlikely it's lung cancer at your age.
Try not to get to worked up about it, I know it's hard not to, but, it won't help your anxiety.
They'll soon find out what's going on, let us know how you get on. xx
