I'm coming up for a year after a single lung transplant and early September I caught a chest infection off my daughter, only mild but it did land me in hospital on iv antibiotics but ever since then I've had a constant cough and what feels like flem is stuck in my trachy site ( I had problems after surgery which required me to be on life support and need a tracheostomy) I'm on carbasistine to loosen things up but it's very frustrating and I'm constantly breathless too ( I've also only one lung which is my transplanted one) any suggestions on what I can do to help it

Constant cough
Hi Egbid sounds like your having a real hard time, a lung transplant I can't imagine what you must have been like before you had it too. I have bronchiectasis, 4 years mild but I have been poorly for four months with loads of chest infections and have a constant wheeze and cough there doing further investigations as the antibiotics don't seam to be working even after my sputum samples are put in and they say that this is the one for me it still doesn't work. I have a constant wright on my chest which is just horrible and they say it's the mucus, well apart from the exercises I've been watching on y-tube I also saw a cadet called a eurosure devise its just cost me £125 which was reduced from £186 anyway I think it was still expensive but I thought well if it works it's worth it, I have only just bought it, or should I say my husband did and had great difficulty finding one in stock, I've only just started to use it last night and once through the night along with my nebuliser and I think it's going to be ok I did manage to get some mucus up for some relieve which I do t usually unless my husband half beats me to death (joking) but least it's something I can do on my own. It's just I'm going away on a trip to Majorca on Wednesday with my grand children and daughter and I don't want to have to ask my daughter to start doing these exercises on me when she is on her holidays, so I really hope it keeps on working. I know it's a horrible feeling constantly feeling like this, I hope you get something that works for you too. My husband got mi e at Boots but several of the shops were sold out so you might have to phone them and ask them to find out which one had one in stock or order one in for you. Good luck.
You can buy it online from the aerosure medic site. Don't forget to get the vat back!
