I’ve read that Pantoprazole interacts with Simvastatin. Is it ok if take them 4hrs apart?

Sorry, I can't help you here. Probably the best place to ask is the pharmacy or chemist where you get your prescriptions from.

Not sure if you were told? Statins should be taken at night? The liver is working better then to process the statins. I would have a chat with the chemist.

Have not heard of that specific interaction but statins and PPIs are metabolised by similar routes so it is theoretically possible (they may affect clopidogrel through this mechanism).

With respect to pantoprazole and other PPIs their blood levels are not well sustained - peak around 1 hour and fall after that so 4 hrs apart should be fine to avoid any potential metabolic interactions.

In terms of when you take them I would have thought that this should rule out any interaction as you should take panto in morning (1 hr before any food on empty stomach or else it doesnt work very well) while statins are usually taken in evening ?. As such, unless you are taking sustained release panto there should be no interaction.

However, as with all advice of this nature, check with your doctor.
