I eventually managed to stop smoking after 45 years. Its only been three months and have suffered ups and downs along the way with my COPD. Managed to have an amazing 10 days in Turkey with my daughter last month and health wise felt on top of the world. Now going through a COPD flare up and feel dreadful but hopefully this will pass . Onwards and upwards.

Hi Lyn he has tried a few times but ends up with temper from hell lol , you have to really want to do it , I’d tried over the years but my reward was having grandkids and as time went by I now have 3 best motivation ever my copd has declined rapidly I’m stage 3 30% lung capacity so I would have been even worse without stopping !! Well done on good bing up the ciggies, I’m exactly 6years off them today, still want one every single day, but I’ve never given in. I had a few flare ups during my first year off them and then things settled down and so far so good. I’ve had a few flare ups since but none as bad as the ones I had when on the ciggies. Keep going you’re doing amazingly well x

LYNBURDON,

God for you giving up the smokes, mine was nearer to 55 years, COPD & emphysema brought it all to an end, keep it going they say it gets better. Good to hear you had a good time with your daughter, pity about the after effects. You will get thro' it.
