Hello dumela, a warm welcome 🤗 a friend of mine had shingles last year it can be painful for weeks after the rash has gone, he just took some pain killers. As the doctor's told him to do. It will settle down slowly, depending on your immune system. But just ask your doctor if you are unsure. All the best and get well again 🌼🌼🌼

Hi dumela,

2 x prednisone seems (to me) an odd dose. My limited knowledge suggests that prednisoneis intended to reduce inflammation of internal organs and is usually reserved for exacerbations ... but in short, sharp doses.

Might be worth a conversation with a GO to confirm that your meds are still correct?

Best wishes

Can't understand why you never got shingles when you were young. It used to be a common child ailment like measles and mumps. When I got if 70 years ago, my mum painted me with calamine lotion. Seemed to work OK.
