Teresa from the Nottingham West Breathe Easy group talked us recently about their exciting new charity single.
'After months of dedication, planning and practice, we've released our first charity single! We chose to record a version of the Bill Withers' classic 'Lean on Me', as it represents how people with lung conditions share their experiences and support each other.
Singing can provide excellent health benefits to people with lung conditions. There's increasing evidence that singing regularly, and as part of a group, can help people with lung conditions physically, psychologically and socially. It's a great feel good factor and a healthy way to exercise your lungs!
The song has backing music from a local Nottingham band called Brotherhood, and many people living with lung conditions from across Nottinghamshire contributed their voices. Even a few respiratory nurses and GPs were involved!
We're releasing 200,000 downloads of the song and all proceeds will go directly to research into lung disease. You can download the single for 99p on Amazon and iTunes Music or £1.29 on Google Play '
