I had mine separately last year, the flu jab was painless and no side effects, the pneumonia one was the opposite, painful with a few days of yucky, lethargy.

in reply to 2greys

Iv had the flu one with no reaction ...so it's definitely the pneumonia wanted both to get it out the way its done now lol xx

That happened to me when I had my very first jab and said I would have pneumonia one at same time. Two days later I came out in hives and had to go on anti histamine and the doctor put on my notes that I must never have flu jabs again. I have worried for years fearing I would get the flu. No one would give me the jab, till last year when I changed doctors and he gave me one, as they change the type each year. Will be glad to have one this coming week.

I'm sure by today's end it will be gone...im just feeling under par and shivery..a good walk will help I'm sure x

If you still have the lumps on your arms would advise you get some anti histamine from pharmacist or even a supermarket, they soon clear things up. Hope you are better soon.

in reply to joyce74

It's only lumps at the injection site which is fairly normal for up to 48 hours but thank you much appreciated xxx

Funny thing Angie, the concensus seems to be that it is the pneumonia jab making you feel grotty. I had my flu jab on thursday. Yesterday I began to feel very tight chested and wheezy ( not usual in bronch) The site of the injection is hot and itchy and I am itching all over my body. I have a headache, bit of a sore throat and feel wiped out. I don't always react but there seems to be something going on. Just hope it is the jab and not some virus bequeathed to me in the doc's surgery.

I'm sure that you will be back up to full speed pretty quickly.

My swashbuckling super woman smitten by the pnew me jab?My faith in super hero's is shattered.Thank god it's a one off life time jab nowadays but maybe that's why many people get a reaction and even super hero's get the green kryptonite effect.I am sure you will bounce back quicker than most of us and will be climbing to the 100th floor in the gym very soon.Wrap up warm and get hubby to do the chores today lol ..............skis and scruffy x

Hope you're back to normal by now Angie. Our surgery doesn't open it's flu clinic until a week on Monday, but yesterday I had a letter informing me that this year I'm also eligible for the shingles jab and they've booked me in for that and the flu jab for the 23rd of October. As I'm reliant on public transport, I'm not too happy to wait that long - think I'll give them a ring on Monday - after I've been to a different clinic for my blood tests (two buses) and then to the hospital (and back, four buses) to get my hip X-rayed๐Ÿ™„. Going to be knackered when I get back I think๐Ÿ˜ด

in reply to Magpuss

I'm much better just tired now but been really busy in the garden working digging and being looked after now by him indoors ....have you not anyone to pick you up and take you to appointment...give them a call like you say you don't want to wait too long ..lol get your son to ride you in ๐Ÿ›ต๐Ÿ›ต๐Ÿ˜—

Too wet here to do anything but rake leaves and pick up fallen apples, and a bit on the chilly side too. My son - (the one with the bike) lives in Worcestershire, my daughter's in Shropshire and I'm in the middle but they'll be at work anyway. I'm now thinking of getting a taxi to and from the hospital, it will be a lot quicker and don't want to leave my eldest lad on his own for too long (he has CP) especially not when I'm going to out in the morning as well. Much rather turn up on the back of the Harley though๐Ÿ˜„.

in reply to Magpuss

Taxi for definite then and it is getting cooler to cool for September... I can see you on the back of a Harley I'm sure you would live it get the hip sorted then get a leg over ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜

You're right, far too cool for September. The X-Ray's precautionary, my hip started playing up about three weeks ago but my mum had osteoporosis so - I'm 'being looked at' just in case........fingers crossed.

in reply to Magpuss

Absolutely fingers crossed for you hope results are good let us know rooting for you lovley xxxx
