Any ideas please

Hello all its been a while . My partner suffers terrible with copd and asthma his peak flow doesn't go above 110 he's had several rescue packs this year just finished yet another rescue pack been referred back to lung specialist because nurse at GPRSwasn't happy she said he's on 3 stage inhalers and his lung function test showed he had diminished 30percent . It's been 2months since referral all the hospital say is there's a long waiting list . But surely he carnt just keep taking rescue packs there not even helping much anymore. At the moment he's very breathless feels very bloated like there's no room to breathe and very sick he's been like this 4 days he finished rescue pack 6 days ago . Thank you for

hi im a severe copd sufferer lucky for me im in to see the proff on monday but my original appointment was for dec but i kept ringing everyday to see if there where any cancelations and after ringing for over a week every day i finally got lucky so if he has got an appointment yet even if is like 3 months away ring daily for cancelations its murder iv been poorly for months cant do a thing even eating takes its toll but i will see what the main man says monday hopefully fingers crossed i will meet the criteria for either the valves fitted or a lung volume reduction op hope you go on alright has he been offered pulmonary rehabiltation because a lot of people say that really helps

Thank you for advice my partner is still waiting to get on lung specialists list we keep phoning just been told there's at least another month before he gets offered an appointment .no he's not been offered pulmonary rehabilitation yet he needs to be referred by lung specialist it just feels like a merry go round again I hope all goes well for you

hi shorty are you in UK if yes then go to your doctors and tell him to refer you thats how it happens also i have just been informed that every district has a copd sort of nurse so ask your doctor about that but insist on being refered to the rehab

Yes we live in uk and has been referred to specialists been on waiting list 2 months now at least another month to go and he's got a copd nurse but she's not happy that my partners Spiro results have diminished by 30 percent since admitted 2 yrs ago

i got on great to be honest i feel like something is finally going to be done keep ringing the specialist everyday see if there are any cancelations its worth a try i did and i got in 3 months early i cant believe they arent doing anything its so frustrating which hospital is he under ring them see if they have any trials on its a quick way of getting in the back door helped me out massively good luck x

as for the rehab when i went doctors she said i had to be referred so i said refer me then so they did insist that you want to be referred

Glad your finally getting the help you need .we actually got a phone call from hospital offering my partner an appointment for two weeks time so fingers crossed we get the help we need
