Is it the inhalers that are causing the UTI if it is then your doc should advise and maybe change it x

Thanks for replying - Urinary Tract Infection - I should know I've had one three times -even had a week in hospital with one really bad one!!

Nobody ever linked them to inhalers, but when I think about it, I never suffered bladder infections in the days before I used inhalers.

You like opera tetrazzini or is your nick name for another reason x

No, I love opera. The avatar is a signed photo which she did in London in November 1907 after her triumph in La Traviata. She had a truly amazing voice and an incredible life - I have read biographies and she was some woman !!

Nowadays Anna Netrebko is my favourite - truly wonderful actress as well as a superb voice.

Excuse my ignorance but how does an inhaler cause a UTI ?

in reply to PollyP

Anticholinergic drugs that are in some inhalers can affect the smooth muscle on the bladder wall . Making you more prone to urgency and incontinence causing the bladder to get lazy and by not emptying bladder properly can cause utis...more prone in men than women...the bladder wall reacts with acetylcholine which the inhalers prevent like a blocker xx but bobbyfloyd you need to speak to your GP regarding this and get the advice from your professional as you don't want it to back track to the kidneys xxx

all my uti,s go to kidney infections, very hard to clear up, i have checked and all inhalers give this, especially the ones for once a day only, just got to live with it i suppose, thank you for your input,

it is a side effect of the inhalers, it may give you an UTI then that goes to a kidney infection which i have now, now all get UTI,s but quite a lot do

That is very helpful thanks....after being in Seretide and Sirius for 12 or so years I have been getting UTI's in the winter time for last 2-4 years. My inhalers were changed last year so fingers crossed !
