Hi Valerie, if you've had the PET scan and biopsy via the bronchoscopy, your consultant should be able to give you specifics on Fri. If it is cancer, your Dr will discuss a course of action with you. As to the pain and fever, we are all different and you should also discuss this with your consultant. Wish the best for you Valerie! I have been there. Depending on how things develop, please feel free to let us know of any questions you might have. Kindest Regards, judg69
I have little knowledge / experience of cancer but I thought that a diagnosis was usually a lot quicker than six months and I also thought the support for sufferers meant that consultant appointments were very, very quick.
Might I suggest that you consider taking someone with you (someone who is emotionally detached and will ask the difficult questions on your behalf) and make a list of the questions in advance.
From what you've said they don't seem to be providing the level of care and support that you should expect from the diagnosis.
Hi Valerie, sorry its not good news. Good to hear you are seeing the consultant this week. No help with why you are in pain & fever, however lung conditions what ever TB, cancer, or COPD can cause infection which can give symptoms like you have even pneumonia does. I would rest and take painkillers for now till hospital in two days unless things get worse then phone an ambulance. Take care and best wishes for Friday. Oh and cancer follow up should be very quick as others say, I have always been dealt with within a short time month at maximum.
