COPD's friend D.Pression.

COPD has lots of friends that follow It about.

It's bad enough to deal with It, without them spreading doubt.

Paranoia and Depression, are two you need to watch.

They'll take you back a step or two and make your life a botch.

It's easy to imagine that there's no one there that cares,

And everything is difficult and life is full of snares.

Depression then will pay a call, your misery's then complete.

It's time to hear that rallying call and get back on your feet.

There's people here who really care, you can be sure of that.

Especially if it's skischool and his very Scruffy cat.

Nothing can be quite as bad as you at first did think,

Think positive and upbeat, there's that half cup to drink.

And when you're back on course again and feeling really free.

Watch out for those two nasty friends of C O P 'n 'D.

Oh well! One of the advantages of getting old and suffering memory loss, is that you can read a crap bit of poetry and forget it was you that wrote it! :-)

just something from spike to cheer you up:

The ABC by Spike Milligan

'Twas midnight in the schoolroom

And every desk was shut

When suddenly from the alphabet

Was heard a loud "Tut-Tut!"

Said A to B, "I don't like C;

His manners are a lack.

For all I ever see of C

Is a semi-circular back!"

"I disagree," said D to B,

"I've never found C so.

From where I stand he seems to be

An uncompleted O."

C was vexed, "I'm much perplexed,

You criticise my shape.

I'm made like that, to help spell Cat

And Cow and Cool and Cape."

"He's right" said E; said F, "Whoopee!"

Said G, "'Ip, 'Ip, 'ooray!"

"You're dropping me," roared H to G.

"Don't do it please I pray."

"Out of my way," LL said to K.

"I'll make poor I look ILL."

To stop this stunt J stood in front,

And presto! ILL was JILL.

"U know," said V, "that W

Is twice the age of me.

For as a Roman V is five

I'm half as young as he."

X and Y yawned sleepily,

"Look at the time!" they said.

"Let's all get off to beddy byes."

They did, then "Z-z-z."

good night...............skis

I remember reading this many years ago and suspect I've been try to emulate it every since. Unsuccessfully as you will have noticed. I wish Spike Milligan had spent more time writing and less time on his nutty antics.

Thank Dog, Odg, Gdo, God for Midge and Scruffy. Why don't animals get depressed?

in reply to Katinka46

I think animals can get depressed, Kate. Back in the 1970s I had two Labradors, a black and a yellow. They were working gun dogs and lived outside in a kennel run. The black one died first and the yellow one certainly acted and looked the picture of depression until she died quite shortly afterwards.

It Finally Hit me Yesterday, been building up for awhile, went to Doctor, Respiratory made the appointment, I'm blubbering away and not making sense, she was very good and handed me Tissues, she also handed them to my Hubby who was Blubbering also. Today, I feel a bit better and felt the need to get it of my chest. Only after reading the Poem from Don, made me realise I'm not alone. I think the waiting for over 1 year for Trx got to me, moving house, plus demon thoughts, it's great to share on this Forum, everyone understands. Thank you for Listening. XXX

COPD can wear down even the strongest of us Hacienda It's very good at being 'the straw that broke the camel's back' when a person is already carrying a load of baggage. One should never be ashamed of talking about it, especially on this forum where others will have been through the same experience.

Great poem! How's your copd when away in the motor home? We have one but a bit worried about going away as I've had loads of infections lately. That said I think the open air lifestyle is generally v good x

I've spent a lot of time in my campervan and always take my emergency supply of antibiotics and steroids with me. But I have never yet had to use them but like you have lots of infections at home. I think the fresh air has a lot to do with it together with the determination to fight it off before it gets a hold. I wrote a poem about this a while back.
