I believe there is a shortcut key but I don't know how to do it. It is like the accented e (é) - I have to copy it.

In MS Word ctrl+alt+r for registered trade mark symbol

Same for c (copyright) and t (trademark)

Can also enter as (r) is some formats and autocorrect will resolve to symbol.

Many thanks lpogle - I think copyright is just alt+c on a mac though i may have remembered wrongly. Hah, I've just tried a load and discovered the degree sign, as in 24º. So you've set me off on a creative key game

Found a few simpler ways

In Windows Alt + 0174 (on numeric keypad)

MacOS Option + R

On a UK keyboard AltGr + R
