I used to take sririva and seretide by t stopped of my own accord about nine months or more ago. The only things I use now are my puffer of ventalin and mucrodone to soften mucus. I do have a nebulizer which I use now and again. I was forever getting flare ups and chest infections but
I can' remember when I had one last, only that it was ages ago. I have emphysema at severe stage. Any thoughts?

I was doing well and stopped my steroid inhalers, felt pleased with myself as I lost weight and was able to do gentle excercise. The next winter I had a cold and chest infection and it took ages to go and my peak flow has reduced. In the long run I think it was a bad idea
We are all different and I know some inhalers can have chest infections as a side effect. This bothers a few but thankfully most seem to avoid them. Maybe you just need a different inhaler? Have a chat with your GP or respiratory nurse.
Hi Lungs , not sure about giving up preventers, but all of us are different. I do not get many flare ups but cough and breathing are always there with or without drugs so understand your sentiment. Only benefit I get is my lung capacity is better with drugs, which no doubt is the case for you too. Enjoy your day
Thanks to everyone that replied to my post re stopping most medication apart from Salbutimol puffer and Mucrodon. I intend to go on as I am and see how wintertime treats me as despite all the meds I got infections frequently. My natural immune system might come out fighting.
