Water or Acohol, primarily water keeps us alive and it is sound advice to keep taking it.Alcohol nobody can advise you without full medical knowledge but i think the word moderation springs to mind...................cheers.....skisx

I find i get Sob with alchohol you will have to try and see. A lot of the medication puts a strain on the heart.and with the alchohol that makes it worse. Careful how you go

I drink but not to excess. The only drinking problem I have is that I can't afford enough! If you enjoy it and it won't affect your meds then why not?

I read a medical article saying for those of us with COPD and find it difficult to eat (either lack of appetite or feeling full after just a few bites) that a glass of wine helps us to relax and stimulates our hunger. I'll drink to that!! 🍷

Whiskey I am adviced is a good painkiller, my late husband used to say it kills all known germs. It does work well on cold symptoms and used to be used as an aneasetic( spelling error ). works on toothache too. Wine is a good relaxant in moderation but depends on the drugs you take, so cheers to anyone who can enjoy a tipple :)

There's lots of water in beer, and drunk in moderation it's good for the soul, and promotes social intercourse. Better than sitting at home and watching your life tick away.

I agree a tipple can't do too much harm and may even be good for us - even if just raising our spirits (excuse the pun) unfortunately I have found with my COPD I can no longer drink wine as it is too acidy for me, and can only drink one small beer in an evening - still it does mean I really enjoy it when I have one and for people with not many pleasures left it nice to have a treat now and then. Cheers xxx
