New tablets

Hi can anyone help with some advice on Mon I was given new tab from my specialist for IPF called Pirfenidone the information sheet scares me to death burial have taken them and feel sick most of the time also been sick will these symptoms pass as I have increase them next week any info would be very appreciated

I haven't taken them but a friend who has reports that her nausea is less if she takes them with food. Sorry I could not be more helpful.

Hi there, I also have IPF and was prescribed Pirfenidone. Like you, I had nausea all the time. I was changed to Nintedanib and tolerated this much better. If things don't improve, ask your consultant about changing to Nintedanib. It seems to vary which of these 2 drugs suit people best but I believe they do a similar job.
