I have been reading that many of us struggle to be heard by GPs and other professionals and I just want to encourage people to keep going back to them with your concerns or keep requesting to be referred to a specialist.
On that note, I read this and I thought it might be useful for people who have COPD and getting this 'life changing' treatment. It won't apply to everyone but it could be something to bring up with your specialist.
Like countless others, no doubt, I mentioned coils to my consultant and was told I wasn't suitable. My diagnosis is Asthma and Bronchiectasis, so maybe I'm not suitable but it did seem to me like a too-automatic brush off. Having read the article, I really do wonder if there are some of our members here who would benefit from this treatment and haven't been given the chance.
It's always asking again, if they say you're not suitable then ask them to explain why. Hopefully this will open up a dialogue about other treatment methods that are suited to your needs.
