Hi Linda, welcome. Does your Gd play with your nasal canula when she is sitting on your lap? If not then I would guess that there is little likelihood that she would pull it out at night.

What other concerns do you have?

I use oxygen 24/7 but no 4yr olds 😀

Kind regards, Rib

i think the only way you will know is by doing what you have always done. am not on oxygen but i do have my 6 year old son that sleeps next to me. if i had to go on oxygen any time soon am sure i would not let stop sleeping next to me.

good luck with your transplant hope it come up for soon.

I don't have to sleep with oxygen but do use it during the day when required both my grandchildren are used to seeing nanny with her tubes in and apart from an initial curiosity when I first had to use oxygen have never asked to have a go. Now the brand new stair lift is quit another matter and they got quite shirty when their idea of them using the lift and me walking up the stairs after them was shot down in flames.

I would think that as long as your granddaughter does not roll onto the tubing, everything should be ok. Have a word with your oxygen provider they should be able give you some advice.

There is no danger for you but there may be for her. Be very careful that a wriggling child does not get the tubing around her neck.

Hi Tango, I too use oxygen 24/7--I see no reason why she can't sleep with you. She needs to know and learn not to be afraid of the oxygen too. In other words, she can get used to it with you. My canula tubing is 7 ft long. I put the concentrator near me and when I sleep, the tubing is on my side. Oxygen helps me breathe better but even then there are mornings I wake up and the canula would be out of my nose. Sometimes it just happens. Enjoy your little gd and make some memories!
