COPD and antibiotics

I'm new here. I have COPD and an almost permanent cough. Only co-amioxiclav works, but as one cough clears up, another starts. I have been told to be careful with this antibiotic, as if it doesn't work, then I am stuck. The doctors do not know what to do. Is this your experiences, my friends? Should I just keep taking these antibiotics until they cease to work. Then what? Thankyou

Doctors are full of it really .. I suffered antibiotic resistance and my docs have to rotate my antibiotics every 6 - 12 weeks.

This new classes of antibiotics that they save for mrsa shuff like that SO don't ware the bull.

Next time see doctor say if medics was that concerned would not let farmers use it like candy in feed factory farms.

That is where biggest abuse resistance of antibiotics is found.

But as the can't give farm animal bs same it for us lot

Maybe your GP isn't very good? If this is recurring then it needs further investigation (not just more of the same). Chest X-rays and mucus samples would seem like a decent staring place.

Please don't assume that GP's actually know anything about it (although I accept that there are some who are very good) - demand more from them and don't take no for an answer. It's YOUR health and only you will be affected if it'as not good health.

Try another GP in the practice or, failing that, another surgery.

Good luck

My brother in laws have a text today about a woman who started using Bragg's apple cider vinegar mother load mixed two TBLS with raw honey couple of times a day she only did for short time before cough subsided. Might be worth a shot mixed it with warm water.

I feel sure your GP would consider referring you to a Pulmonologist; (lung doctor specialist) I'm not trying to give you medical advice or tell you what to do....but if "I" was in that situation, I would have already been there. Just speaking from experience, the coughing is a symptom of your problem. When I had some of your symptoms, I had pneumonia. I was in the hospital for 7 days with CT Lung Scans and Chest Xrays. I live here in the US and I did receive quality care for a very serious acute pneumonia. The antibiotic co-amioxiclav is for a bacterial infection; with that said, not every lung infection is the same bacteria; which would require a different antibiotic. A pulmonologist would be very helpful. I am not a doctor, but a persistent cough can indicate something else. If it were me, I would insist for a chest xray or better yet, a CT Lung Scan. Please keep us posted.
