Small step forward

Ooh, that was tricky.

I visited the dr to ask for a specialist's diagnosis and the first question that she asked was if I had private health care..I don't and that's a rant for another post!

My bullet points got me past the next hurdle as she tried to re-direct me and I concluded that if I understood my condition then I could be proactive instead of reactive to my health care-thus saving NHS money but didn't go that far.

My tenacity paid off and I got blood tests, chest X-ray and referral to specialist lung care. She tried to dissuade me again by showing me how long waiting times are and that I probably won't be able to see whoever I choose. So I beamed positivity at her and said that I was prepared to wait.

I mentioned this forum to the dr and she agreed that it was an excellent resource for information and support so thank you all again for being there and so helpful.
