Testing

Hi, hope youre well as can be expected. I woke with my usual SOB and slight panic this morning to answer the doorbell ringing. It was a parcel for my daughter. But also a letter for me. It was a referral to cardiology ECG department for breathing tests. I'm already booked in the respiratory department for reversibility testing so i'm wondering why i'm having another referral but to a different department.

An ECG is quite routine for many patients with lung disease. They are being efficient so please don't worry. :)

Thank you I feel better knowing that. X

Hi LaurieRose. I agree with MrsM, as she rightly says they are being efficient which is a good thing. No need to panic, Brian :)

Wow, I'd be pleased!

It's good to have as many tests as they offer, at the very least to rule out any other issues. Good luck.

Haha well yes. I seem to be lucky on getting tests. I don't mind hospital too much.

because the cardios don't talk to the resps and the resps don't talk to the cardios. I have both problems and I force them to send each other the letters.

Yes it's a pain you'd think with technology we have now that communication would be more efficient. I wish it was back to when patients carried their own notes, much more reliable.

I'm in hospital with pneumonia and today I've had a echo heart scan. It was done to rule out any heart problems causing me more difficulties with my breathing. No test results as yet. They are probably just to rule heart problems out.

Hope they come back with good results Jummie. I believe now that the heart gets checked routinely with severe breathing problems or infections especially pneumonia. Its good they are keeping an eye on it for you and there seems to be fast acting medications for blood pressure and heart related complaints from what ive heard. All the best keep me posted. Xx

Thank you Laurie Rose. I have been told that echo heart scan was normal which is good news. I have been discharged from hospital and back home. I have appointment to see my consultant on the 17th July and oxygen nurse the following day. Hopefully get some positive feedback. 😀
