10 Days in May

Hospitalised for 10 days in May and my life has been turned upside down, my lungs have a fungal infection, cirrhosis never been a drinker and no alcohol for 14 years. Then enlarged spleen, portal hypertension and the absolute killer ( gallows humour ) Pulmonary Hypertension

All I can say is .. oh my, what a list. Hope the health professionals are treating you well.

The respiratory consultant has been marvellous, within 4 days from discharge he was seeing me as an out-patient and prescribed a course of specialised antibiotics for the lungs.

As for the Gastrology Team, not a thing after saying come see us in 6 months !! This is the team responsible for treating life threatening conditions clearly not understanding how their patients just want to know what changes they need o do to reduce the chances of the inevitable cessation of life.

Oh, dear, KeefyGee . Did all this come out of the blue? It must have been a great shock to you. How is your lung fungal infection being treated?

Thank you, Nan. I am at home, feeling very ill and very disappointed at the Gastrology department at the GWH in Swindon.
