Hopefully 2greys will come up and give you some advice. I know he still works but he may be an exception to the rule.

I am severe 24% and like 2greys self employed, but recently I have gone from working all the hours god sends to part time. I now decide what jobs I can and cant do it can be hard going sometimes but I'm grateful that my job allows me time to be seated sometimes but I'll keep moving as long as I physically can.

I admit that I used to work long hours as well, but now I try to keep it to 37/40 hrs/week + the paper work once a month at home. I will continue working as long as I am able. It is just over a year now since being diagnosed after a 4 month long infection.

I could work longer if I wanted to, but at 66 I feel that is more than enough. I am also doing most of the housework at the moment too, plus at least 40 mins exercise each day. One good thing, in that being pooped at the end of each day means I sleep like a baby all night through, without waking :)

Let the "poop" see the sleep!!!

Seriously, best regards.

Ty for your replys, my FEV1 is 28 which I only found out in May, and was told it was better than my last spirometry 3 years ago, I had no idea...consequently I have continued to work FT quite happily but now I know I feel awful 😩

Do not beat yourself up for not feeling well, it is not your fault, you have done extremely well to go for three years working full-time. I hope I will be able to say the same in another 2 years time. I hope you feel better soon.

Please think long and hard about giving up your work, it will be extremely hard to find another job and just as hard coping with it, having been deconditioned to working. Working might well have contributed to improving your fev1 readings. I know that being as active as I am, is really helping me. But as with all things, there is a limit to how long any of us can carry on working, healthy or not.

I am the same as Dick also. I have to work as self employed, but I am struggling. I also suffer from sleepless nights and pulse rates of over 125+ resting, so exercise is a no no.
