We'd heard our mothers say.
My mates and I looked out for them
When we went out to play.
We followed furcoated ladies,
Till they were ill at ease.
Young Harry said just ask 'em
They'll tell if you say please.
But no one had the courage
To risk getting a clout.
So in the end we all gave up
And never did find out.
Fast forward over eighty years,
You'll probably find it wrong.
They don't wear fur or knickers now,
Instead they wear a thong. (So I'm told)

We use to go down the high st as part of it was like a wind tunel to look till we was found out and it got back to ower perants and what a wallap i had off my father for going there and and looking and for beeing in town

Well, when I were a lad,
waist high to my dad,
things like that were never said,
not where I was born and bred.
I only had three mates back then,
my nearest neighbours, all 3 of them,
no thoughts of women in furs,
just dam up the stream with fallen firs.
We made ourselves a river pool,
skinny dip and act like a fool,
a rope hung from a tree,
to swing back and forth with glee.
Arrive back home all covered in mud,
the horse too, was plastered in crud.
A different world it really was,
but nothing at all like Oz,
From the "Little House on the Prairie"
to jetting round the world is quite scary,
with living out of suitcases,
surrounded by stranger's faces.
When I first saw a woman in furs,
'twas the first in all my years,
at the cinema, on the silver screen,
all ladies wore them or so it did seem,
The question of knickers,
would bring only sniggers,
I was not really all that bad,
because I were only a lad.
That is funny. Reminds me of when I was a child and was taken to an greyhound race track. I wandered around picking up discarded tickets, thinking I might find a winner thrown away by mistake. i was on the stands where people sat on the concrete steps, and glanced up to see right up this large lady's skirt., she sat with knees apart. She must have been wearing french knickers, popular at that time, which provided no cover at all! Never forgot that!

Some fashionable ladies, including Royalty apparently go commando, to avoid a VPL.
I was married for over 50 years. If M&S say no VPL who am I to argue? Anyway, I doubt that I would see a VPL without my reading glasses.
