Hello everyone. I'm trying to find a place in Cyprus where I will be able to hire for my mum who has emphysema and is on oxygen. My mum is from Cyprus and wishes to go back one last time. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Hi, Era. I hired a portable concentrator to take with me. Others have asked this question though and you can read the replies via this link.

Sorry, can't help with that but I would suppose most travel agents can. Or try somewhere like Owners Direct or HomeAway.

Or TripAdvisor.

Where abouts in Cyprus will your mum be staying?

I googled the question and you might want to try pmedicyp.com.cy as they seem to deliver to hotels across the island. This is not a recommendation though as luckily I don't need oxygen. Hope your mum enjoys her stay in her beautiful homeland 😀

I think pathos. My yiayia was born in polis and my bappou was born in Limassol.

Hello Era_scott

To arrange oxygen for your stay in Cyprus you could contact the Cyprus Ministry of Health. You can contact them via the details on this website: moh.gov.cy/moh/moh.nsf/cont...

Typically, they will ask you for a copy of your passport, European Health Insurance Card |(EHIC), a prescription from your doctor and details of your accommodation. You may be asked to pay a surcharge when you make the arrangements, however you may be able to reclaim some of these costs back after your holiday. Make sure that you keep any receipts.

For information on making a claim for costs contact the DWP's Overseas Healthcare Team on 0191 218 1999.

For information about EHIC see:

nhs.uk/NHSEngland/Healthcar...

Please also see blf.org.uk for further information on travelling with a lung condition.

Alternatively, you could hire a portable oxygen concentrator (POC) to take to Cyprus with you. These are available to hire from to following companies. The cost of hiring a POC cannot be reimbursed.

Pure O2 – 0800 145 5902

Omega Oxygen – 01273 308 176

The Oxygen Store – 0345 100 0084

I hope this information helps.

Kind regards,

Ben
